Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Staffordshire. As a key member of our residential development team, you will be responsible for leading and managing civil engineering aspects across a range of residential development sites throughout the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead all civil engineering elements of residential projects, from initial site assessment through to completion.
  • Design and Planning: Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of infrastructure works, including roads, drainage, and utilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Team Management: Manage and coordinate external consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct technical reviews, provide engineering solutions, and address any site-specific challenges that arise during the construction process.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and contribute to the preparation of planning applications and other statutory submissions.
  • Site Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits across the West Midlands to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and successful resolution of any engineering issues.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their professional development within the company.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with significant experience in residential development and infrastructure projects.
  • Professional Qualifications: Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or working towards it is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, including drainage, roads, and utilities.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing and delivering complex civil engineering projects, ideally within the residential sector.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in managing teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in civil engineering software and design tools, as well as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental considerations related to civil engineering works.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to various sites across the West Midlands as required.

Package/Benefits:
