Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at TÜV SÜD. As a key member of our Site Services team, you will be responsible for assisting and deputising for the Chef in providing a daily breakfast, lunch, and hospitality services to our growing customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and deputise for the Chef in maintaining a high-quality food service, including taking site orders and supporting periodic events.
  • Prepare and deliver refreshments for meetings and buffet spreads as required.
  • Prepare, cook, and finish dishes at the instruction of the Chef.
  • Attend the servery counter to take orders, payments, and serve customers.
  • Complete food and temperature charts and perform the routine clean-down cycle of the kitchen and servery area daily.
  • Assist the Chef in planning weekly menus, stock orders, and taking receipt of catering provisions.
  • Practice good food hygiene and uphold health and safety and environmental policies in respect of the kitchen service.
  • Assist in stocking the fresh and snack vending machines and out-of-hours refreshments at two local locations.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Site & Facilities Manager to support the restaurant services function.

Requirements

  • Previous retail kitchen or catering experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team under varying levels of service delivery pressure.
  • A recognised hygiene and food preparation qualification/certificate level.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Common sense and ability to use initiative.
  • Awareness of allergens, food preparation controls, and common dietary needs.

Desirable Criteria

  • Proficient use of IT.
  • Transaction/point of sale handling experience.
  • Live locally to site with own transport.
  • Customer service experience.
