Job Title: Financial Operations Assistant

Job Summary:

Fowler Welch, a leading logistics company, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join its finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and analysis to ensure the smooth operation of the company's financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post weekly and month-end journals and assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Control the cash book, credit cards, and expenses, and perform yearend and audit tasks.
  • Prepare and post general ledger journals, and perform PSA reconciliation and analysis for review.
  • Post weekly and monthly payroll journals and salary prepayments or accruals.
  • Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations and assist with the preparation of monthly group reports.
  • Support year-end analysis, reconciliations, and group submissions, and assist in supplying information to auditors for annual audit.
  • Supply data for tax analysis and assist with queries from the Muller Tax team.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for the Office of National Statistics.

Requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels within the business.
  • PC literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
