Are you ready to lead a vital initiative for the Royal British Legion as a Poppy Appeal Coordinator?

In the role of Poppy Appeal Coordinator for the Cardiff and Gwent region, your primary objective will be to meet financial targets related to income, expenditures, and contributions, ensuring the appeal's success. Working closely with the Regional Poppy Appeal Coordinator, you will develop and oversee a budget for income and expenditures, providing regular updates and insights.

Relationship management is essential in this position, as you will manage a portfolio of corporate partnerships within the region and collaborate with various internal teams to achieve shared objectives. Strong communication skills are crucial, allowing you to effectively engage with supporters and stakeholders, ensuring a rewarding experience for all involved.

A unique aspect of this position is the involvement in the Poppy Appeal activities. In addition to managing relationships and budgets, you will be responsible for recruiting and training new Poppy Appeal Organisers, equipping them with the necessary tools and resources for success. You will also plan and coordinate the launch of the Poppy Appeal, including public relations and media outreach, to enhance the appeal's overall effectiveness.

Your responsibilities will also include representing the Royal British Legion in the local community, participating in outreach efforts, and providing updates to key stakeholders. Flexibility is key, as the role may require evening and weekend work, as well as occasional overnight travel. The ideal candidate will embody the values of the Royal British Legion, demonstrating a commitment to its mission and objectives.

The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of commercial principles, financial management experience, and a background in supporter relationship management. Strong organizational, planning, and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to evaluate the commercial implications of decisions. This role requires a collaborative team player who can effectively communicate with diverse groups, both in writing and verbally.

This role may also involve travel across the UK for meetings, training, and seminars, including occasional overnight stays.
