The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will use your mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain and enhance the performance of our production plant and equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Performing diagnostics and fault-finding on both mechanical and electrical systems.
  2. Keeping accurate records of all maintenance activities, ensuring any downtime is logged and methods for reducing this are explored.
  3. Supporting production teams to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and to a high standard.
  4. Maintaining GMP standards for food processing, keeping the site audit-ready.
  5. Collaborating with the engineering team to ensure that machinery is properly maintained and all health and safety standards are adhered to.
  6. Offering engineering support to production to keep operations running at optimal performance.
  7. Training and developing production staff to carry out first-line maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance. A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications are essential, alongside experience in a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment—ideally within the food sector.

  1. Electrical and mechanical qualifications with at least 3 years of maintenance experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens S7, S5, Allen Bradley).
  3. Competence in fault-finding and analysis, both electronically and mechanically.
