About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team at Royal Mail Group's new parcel processing facility in Northampton. As a key member of our critical engineering maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the availability and performance of automation assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance, to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance automation outputs and efficiency.
  • Provide effective support to the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Team Leads, including completion of end-of-shift reports, fault logging, and data entry.
  • Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions to meet operational processing requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders to monitor equipment performance and improve automation outputs.
About You

We are looking for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering. You will have a minimum ONC Electrical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 qualification, as well as first-hand experience in maintaining automation equipment, preferably Programme Logic Controllers (PLC). A flexible approach and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
