The Nuclear Medicine Service operates with a dedicated team of professionals across multiple locations, providing essential diagnostic imaging and therapeutic services. Our clinics deliver a wide array of diagnostic imaging and non-imaging assessments, covering various medical specialties such as cardiology, oncology, and orthopaedics. Additionally, we are expanding our molecular therapy services to enhance patient treatment options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a welcoming and efficient service to patients, visitors, and all service users.
  • Accurately input patient information into the relevant computer systems.
  • Verify patient details during each visit to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, addressing inquiries from stakeholders promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with clinic staff and patients regarding any delays or issues.
  • Manage referrals for investigations, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Schedule, modify, or cancel appointments in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Distribute patient information and feedback forms as necessary.
  • Notify patients of their appointments via letter, including all relevant information.
  • Assist patients with transportation and escort arrangements when needed.
  • Utilize local patient record systems for maintaining patient-related information.
  • Prepare request cards for upcoming appointments, ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Type reports in line with departmental targets.
  • Organize reports for forwarding to referrers, ensuring accuracy.
  • Maintain organized filing systems within the work area.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Assist the clinical team in managing patient flow through the service.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
  • Remain flexible in work arrangements to support service continuity during staff absences.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service or public-facing roles.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the NHS in a patient-facing capacity.
  • Familiarity with computer spreadsheets and databases.
  • Knowledge of hospital computer systems.

Skills and Attributes

  • Capability to perform under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
