About the Role

The Designate Depot General Manager will play a pivotal role in the leadership and development of the depot team, driving operational performance and achieving key performance indicators. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to make decisions, and a focus on delivering strategic improvements and growth for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver budget, cost, and service metrics set by the Area Manager, monitoring and challenging KPIs implemented by operational management teams.
  • Support the Area in delivering strategic improvements and deliverables for business growth.
  • Deputise for the DGM when they are not available, acting as the point of contact and having accountability for the depot during that time.
  • Work across all shifts and team structures, reviewing depot performance through data and trends to deliver solutions for depot management.
  • Demonstrate strong aspirational leadership qualities, leading the transport team and harmonising, challenging, and providing clear direction and strength in leadership.

Requirements

  • CPC National Certificate is desirable.
  • Full driving licence is required.
  • IOSH Qualified.
  • Ability to assess operational performance, people, and process.
  • Ability to be agile and act with pace, identifying and executing solutions under pressure.
  • Advanced understanding of Management Information and Excel spreadsheets, with good ability in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
