Position Overview - LEAD ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR - FRONT OF HOUSE

The Lead Engineering Supervisor assists the Chief Engineer in overseeing all facets of the Engineering Department's operations. While your primary focus will be on managing Front of House engineering projects, a solid understanding of Back of House engineering initiatives will also be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, scheduling, supervising, and executing repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of property utilities.
  • Maintaining guest facilities to uphold high standards of comfort and safety.
  • Enforcing compliance with local building, fire, and authority regulations.
  • Assisting with Fire Life Safety Checklists.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Security to ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards.
  • Working closely with management to promote teamwork.
  • Overseeing carpentry and general building repairs and improvements.
  • Managing painting and decorating to maintain the aesthetic integrity of the property.
  • Proactively addressing plumbing issues to minimize disruption for residents.
  • Managing electrical projects specific to Front of House areas.
  • Monitoring preventive maintenance works in rooms and public areas according to established quality standards.
  • Overseeing the operation of all system equipment and taking necessary actions as required.
  • Understanding and managing the IT infrastructure on the property, resolving IT issues promptly or facilitating effective communication with relevant personnel.

Essential Qualifications:

  • HND (or equivalent) in Building Services, Facilities Management, or related trade skills such as carpentry.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior engineering role within the hospitality sector, preferably in boutique or luxury establishments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of carpentry, decoration, pool plant, and general maintenance management.
  • Familiarity with engineering systems (e.g., HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient financial skills with experience in budget management and cost control.
  • High-level problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
