Job Summary

Scantec Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join a leading Engineering organisation specialising in the delivery of consultancy services, engineering solutions, and site operations support to Defence contractors. This role requires a strong technical background, particularly in commissioning within a nuclear-licensed site, and the ability to manage supplier relationships and technical teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of commissioning strategies and high-level control documents.
  • Prepare critical project documentation, including control plans, setting to work documents, site acceptance documents, inactive commissioning documents, method statements, risk assessments, and LTQR documentation.
  • Collaborate with sub-contractors and suppliers to develop and review control plans, factory acceptance testing (FAT) documents, setting to work documents, site acceptance testing (SAT) documents, inactive commissioning documents, and LTQR documentation.
  • Attend FATs, ensuring suppliers conduct testing according to the agreed test plan.
  • Manage project engineers and technicians during setting to work, SAT, and inactive commissioning phases.
  • Understand the technical requirements of a project and collaborate with in-house specialists or supply chain support to develop design and engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • DV Security Level Clearance.
  • EC&I biased.
  • Commissioning experience on a nuclear-licensed site.
  • Experience in supplier witness testing.
  • Experience in developing test documentation.
  • Engineering degree or higher national certificate in engineering.
  • Membership of a relevant technical/professional body.
  • Control panel design experience.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and process engineering disciplines.
  • Fault finding experience.
  • Onsite supplier management experience.
