Sutton Recruitment is working exclusively to recruit a Procurement and Planning Manager to join a leading company who specializes in the production of innovative precast reinforced, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete products.

As the largest independent producer of pre-stressed bridge beams in Britain, who offer a comprehensive range of beam profiles as well as bespoke reinforced and post-tensioned products developed and tailored to the needs of individual projects.

Job Summary:

The Procurement and Planning Manager will work under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager with the objective of developing and maintaining the operations planning systems to ensure and assist in the efficient operations of the department and any interfacing departments to enable the smooth and efficient operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present the works production plans, and distribution of same to works supervisors detailing available hours for moulds, reinforcements, casters and finishing.
  • Liaise with suppliers as necessary to ensure the mould and reinforcements sub-contractors are aware of project requirements including production targets, delivery and quality standards.
  • Consult with operations regarding mould design and transmit the appropriate information to the mould builders both internal and external.
  • Agree prices with suppliers and seek annual agreements where possible and practical.
  • Identify any potential cost savings and advise management as necessary.
  • Hire of equipment long term and seek approvals.
  • Carry out periodic supplier reviews including quality audits.
  • Assess minimum stores stock levels and ensure such are accurate and available as required.
  • Coordinate activities as directed to ensure SHEQ systems are adequately maintained by relevant department personnel.
  • Ensure legislation and company H&S regulations comply within scope of operations.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within Stores and Mould departments at all times.
  • Maintain productivity targets by monitoring and achieving accurate allocation of labour hours and reviewing relevant data against production budgets.
  • Work with the management team to identify and implement improvement opportunities in working practices and productivity performance.
  • Proactively communicate with the management team to identify and resolve any arising or identified issues.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite, specifically Excel & Project
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail verbal & written
  • Full Driver's License and own car all mileage is paid for business travel
  • Ability to manage time and workflow of projects efficiently
  • Building effective working relations with people at all levels across our company and externally

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm (30 minute lunch un-paid)
