Job Summary

The Software Engineering Manager will act as a key liaison between technical stakeholders and the technology world, driving the development and maintenance of software and computational tools. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and experience in managing complex software estates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers to deliver against software projects
  • Strategically manage a complex software estate, comprising Microsoft technologies (C#,.NET), distributed systems, HPC, Cloud computing, and technologies such as Kubernetes and Airflow
  • Develop and maintain software roadmaps, incorporating input from technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with design and mechanical engineers to understand technical needs and incorporate them into software solutions

Requirements

  • A solid background in software engineering, with proven experience of leading and developing teams
  • Experience of working within smaller teams/companies requiring flexibility and agility
  • Experience of championing cloud-native development and leading transformation and cloud migration projects
  • A breadth of technical experience encompassing technologies such as C#.NET, HPC, Kubernetes, Airflow, etc.
