Job Overview

The Service Technician will be responsible for executing maintenance and repair tasks on customer equipment at their locations, ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness while adhering to documentation protocols in line with Health and Safety and Quality standards.

This role requires adherence to a structured schedule of service and maintenance assignments at client sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and managing van stock to ensure adequate supplies for daily maintenance.
  • Conducting inspections and ensuring the safety of repaired and maintained equipment.
  • Completing job sheets, timesheets, and requisition forms accurately and within specified timelines.
  • Taking ownership of all tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
  • Adhering to strict schedules and deadlines.

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess knowledge in at least one of the following areas and be open to additional training:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Hydraulics

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, possess strong communication skills, and maintain high standards while meeting deadlines.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Educational background with a minimum grade C in English and Maths at GCSE level.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations in a workshop environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Consultative and negotiation abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the diverse demands of the role.
  • Highly motivated with resilience under pressure.
  • Positive, approachable demeanor with a proactive attitude.

Desirable Skills:

  • Recent experience in the forklift truck service sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications.
Work Schedule

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with a structured break for lunch.
