Field Service Technician

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team at Utilise Recruitment. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of £32,000 for a 40-hour work week, excluding an annual bonus of up to £5,000. Overtime opportunities are frequently available.

Location:
This role is based in the Cardiff area.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing both routine and reactive maintenance in accordance with contractual obligations. Your work will involve various traffic signaling systems and associated equipment.

Additionally, you will have the chance to engage with a variety of projects, including:
- Electric Vehicle Chargers
- Car Park and Stadium Security Solutions
- Electronic Road Signs

On-Call Duties:
Please note that this position requires maintenance work to be conducted around the clock, including standby duties to prevent service disruptions. You will be part of a rota system with your colleagues, which includes additional earnings for on-call responsibilities.

Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and installing traffic equipment (signals and controllers)
- Commitment to using personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and correctly
- Ensuring that your vehicle, tools, and equipment are in safe and usable condition
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on various projects
- Timely reporting of contract changes to the Service Delivery Manager
- Accurate completion and submission of worksheets and time sheets
- Adherence to all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) regulations and procedures

Essential Requirements:
- A full UK driving license is mandatory
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Understanding of traffic signal installation and basic theory (phases, stages, and detection)
- Experience in a field or mobile role
- Strong teamwork and independent working skills
- Proficient in English and Mathematics

Desired Qualifications:
- Sector 8 Accreditation (including NRSWA, G39, ECS)
- HNC/ONC in electrical or electronic disciplines
- Extensive knowledge of traffic signal controllers and equipment from various manufacturers
