Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Van Technician to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a Van Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and repair vehicles, including Refuse collection vehicles, sweepers, tippers, mowing equipment, small tractors, chainsaws, hedge cutters, strimmers, blowers, etc.
  • Perform MOT tests and retests on class 4, 5, and 7 vehicles
  • Conduct taxi tests to the standards set by both Bromsgrove and Redditch Councils
  • Navigate around Bromsgrove and Redditch districts and attend breakdowns, undertaking necessary repairs or facilitating vehicle recovery
  • Work a split shift arrangement if required to meet service needs
  • Work from either of our two workshops as needed
  • Cover periods of leave and sickness within the workshop, as well as work bank holidays
  • Be available to provide cover during periods of emergency works, winter maintenance, and special events
  • Work flexibly to cover service needs, working 37 hours per week, between 6:30am – 6pm Mon – Fri
  • Train staff to carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance of plant and machinery
  • Monitor work to ensure it meets necessary standards
  • Investigate and deal with customer enquiries
  • Act on own initiative with regard to workload and work prioritization
  • Liaise with contractors as needed
  • Drive vehicles up to 26 tonnes (LGV)
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid LGV license
