Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Child Welfare Specialist, you will:
1. Manage a complex and demanding caseload involving children, families, and caregivers, exercising a significant degree of autonomy.
2. Implement effective strategies to foster positive transformations in the lives of children and families, utilizing systemic social work methodologies and tools to promote independence.
3. Assess and mitigate risks associated with abuse and neglect while ensuring that care needs are met through high-quality professional judgment.
4. Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, and engage in review activities, formulating actionable recommendations for support.
5. Prepare comprehensive reports and applications for court proceedings, representing the Local Authority and making informed recommendations regarding potential legal actions.
Qualifications:
- A professional qualification in social work, with registration from the Health & Care Professions Council (or equivalent body).
- Accreditation in relevant training such as Practice Educator training or equivalent CPD.
- Current expertise in child welfare practices and policies.
