About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Director of Quality Assurance. This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective patient safety frameworks and quality governance agendas.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the operational management of quality assurance and patient safety.
  • Enhance and strengthen the organization's quality improvement program, ensuring alignment with the corporate vision, governance framework, and operational plan.
  • Coordinate and develop clinical governance activities, policies, and systems.
  • Ensure audits are in place to measure, monitor, and develop standards of care and service improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulatory requirements across all clinical services and address outcomes from inspections.
  • Take a leadership role in responding to external reviews and inquiries and share best practices across service lines.
  • Develop an organizational culture that promotes effective clinical care, innovation, and change through critical appraisal, research, and practice development.
  • Lead the Risk, Safety, Governance, and Quality teams and provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff and allied health professionals.

This role requires strong collaboration and facilitation skills, with the ability to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including:

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Extensive mental healthcare knowledge and experience in a similar role in an NHS organization.
  • Knowledge of risk management, governance, and patient/carer collaboration within a regulated environment.
  • Proven track record of transformational leadership and culture change in teams.
  • Ability to act as a role model, exhibiting high levels of professional behavior and providing advice on patient care and safety.
  • Evidence of collaborative working, successful innovation, and change.
  • Experience in leading large-scale operational delivery of clinical services.
