Lead Early Years Educator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Early Years Educator to join our team at Bright Horizons Winchester Day Nursery and Preschool. As a Third in Charge, you will play a key role in leading and mentoring a team to deliver exceptional care and education to children in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality care and education to children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet the needs of each child.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy, and safe working environment.
- Promote the nursery to current and potential customers to support retention and occupancy growth.
- Ensure commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure in line with FTEs and budget KPIs.
- Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer and support practice in all areas of the nursery.
Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
- Previous experience working within an Early Years setting, ideally as a Third in Charge, Room Leader, or Early Years Educator.
- Confident decision maker with experience providing support and leadership to others.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and legislative requirements for working with children.
- Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues and parents.
- Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with children and adults.
