Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to join our Film Academy team at Blackburn College. As a Film and Television/Media Production Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, focusing on Level 2 and Level 3 vocational courses in the film, television, and media production industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, teach, and assess Level 2 and Level 3 vocational courses in film, television, and media production
  • Lead on the planning and delivery of our new BFI-backed Saturday Club
  • Work collaboratively with the Film and Music Curriculum Manager to develop and implement curriculum plans
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

  • UK Honours degree or UK ENIC recognised degree in a relevant subject
  • PGCE or other relevant teaching qualification (or working towards)
  • Practical experience of working in the film, television, or media industries
  • Experience of working in an educational environment
  • Ability to demonstrate current industry-standard production and post-production practices
