Job Title: Commercial Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working on one of our project sites located near Newbury and our HQ in Warrington. The successful candidate will have extensive experience (15+ years) of working in the UK construction industry, specifically with Tier 1 & 2 construction companies, and recent and relevant experience of large-scale civil construction contracts delivered using NEC3/4.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer one or more sub-contracts with our supply chain for major design, construction, and decommissioning projects for a major nuclear programme.
  • Develop and implement an effective contract administration and procurement management programme, ensuring compliance with requirements, assurance of commercial delivery, and adherence to nuclear quality control protocols.
  • Administer subcontracts and procurement, reporting cost and commercial performance of work packages, and supporting the Programme Senior Commercial Lead in meeting project goals and objectives.
  • Liaise between internal and external customers/stakeholders to ensure dissemination of commercial information, guidance, continuous improvement, and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Commercial, Quantity Surveying, Business, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Well-developed and practical knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 ECC and good familiarity with associated NEC suite of contracts.
  • RICS Chartered Surveyor or relevant equivalent (or can demonstrate that this will be achieved within 12 months).
  • Recent and relevant experience in a commercial delivery role, preferably with a prime contractor rather than a client-side consultant.
  • Experience of working collaboratively in a project/programme/client environment, with a strong background in dispute avoidance and dispute management.
  • Experience of working in a safety and quality driven environment, with a focus on value-for-money for the public purse.
