Rehabilitation Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rehabilitation Engineer to join our team at Equals One Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs, and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories.

• Conduct thorough assessments of service users' mobility needs, taking into account their medical history, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
• Prescribe and recommend manual and powered wheelchairs, as well as associated accessories, to meet the individual needs of service users.
• Supervise junior staff and provide clinical and technical guidance to other clinical and non-clinical colleagues in the service.
• Work closely with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver high-quality service performance, demonstrating a personalized approach with measured outcomes.
• Take a lead in reviewing and evaluating new and existing equipment, ensuring it meets the needs of service users and is compliant with applicable medical devices regulations.

• Registration as a Clinical Technologist or with the HCPC as a Clinical Scientist.
• Experience of working with patients with long-term or deteriorating medical conditions.
• Strong analytical, engineering, and practical skills, with the ability to solve problems for service users in relation to their mobility equipment.
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools, including hand power tools, and competence to operate appropriate workshop equipment.
• Confidence in the use of digital systems and software for record-keeping and analysis of service performance.
