Mencap is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Support Workers in Derry/Londonderry. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily activities, providing emotional support and promoting independence.
- Work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
- Support individuals with their finances, including paying bills and doing shopping.
- Reduce social isolation by supporting individuals to participate in social groups and activities.
- Assist with personal care, including prompting individuals to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering, and using the bathroom.
- Use Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to improve the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities.
- Caring and patient attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Full clean driving license.
- Paid holidays.
