Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Hernshead Recruitment Ltd. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Quality Control Systems: Develop and implement quality control systems and standards to ensure that our products meet the required quality levels.
  • Direct and Coordinate Quality Control System: Direct and coordinate the company's quality control system to ensure that all products delivered meet the design intent and quality levels required.
  • Ensure Product Quality: Ensure that all products delivered meet the design intent and quality levels required by conducting regular quality control audits and reviewing incoming supplies and products from vendors.
  • Work with Development Departments: Work with the development departments to ensure that manufacturing aspects within the supply chain are considered at an early stage and pull new products through to manufacture.
  • Research and Source Vendors: Work with the design and procurement functions to research, source, and assess the best vendors to supply the necessary products.
  • Conduct Vendor Audits: Conduct regular quality control audits to ensure that vendors continue to work in compliance with company and federal standards.
  • Provide Technical Advice: Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
  • Serve as Liaison: Serve as a liaison between senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ISO900 and 14000: An in-depth knowledge base of ISO900 and 14000, including implementation and maintenance of either of both.
  • Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA): An in-depth knowledge and experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Lean Manufacturing techniques. Six Sigma is desirable.
  • 2D and 3D CAD: A strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD.
