Principal Planning Officer Opportunity

Carrington West is assisting a local authority client in London with the search for a Principal Planning Officer on a long-term contract.

The successful candidate will support and lead on one of the council's major estate regeneration projects, including the development of residential sites, employment sites, and mixed-use schemes.

The contract is for an initial 12-month duration with the potential to extend. The council is looking for candidates who can hit the ground running and are offering flexible working arrangements with site visits once a fortnight.

A comprehensive working knowledge and experience of Development Management within a Local Authority environment are essential. Holding a Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute are beneficial but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead on estate regeneration projects
  • Develop residential, employment, and mixed-use sites
  • Collaborate with the council's team to achieve project goals
  • Provide expert advice on Development Management

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Development Management
  • Experience working in a Local Authority environment
  • Planning Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (beneficial)

Carrington West Pay Rate: £55 per hour (DOE)
