About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Early Years Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Church Crookham Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy, nutritious meals for our children, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting a positive eating culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to food safety guidelines and minimizing waste
  • Manage kitchen operations, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and adhering to company procedures
  • Lead cookery club sessions, inspiring children to develop healthy eating habits and a love for cooking
  • Collaborate with the nursery team to promote a positive and inclusive environment, supporting child welfare, protection, health, and safety
  • Manage stock levels, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining accurate records
Requirements
  • Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits in children
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) certification
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements, particularly food allergies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, children, and parents
