Job Overview

GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation is a leading entity in the production of aircraft engines and components, collaborating with top aerospace firms across commercial, business jet, and military sectors.

We are seeking an Aftermarket Quality Engineer to enhance our quality team in Cheltenham.

This position offers a chance to leverage your expertise in conducting and supporting product quality assessments related to our manufacturing processes while collaborating with team members. Key Responsibilities

Compliance Duties
  • Develop and maintain manuals and Expositions linked to the Company's Regulatory Approvals, ensuring Quality Plans align with the Quality Management System (QMS) framework.
  • Assist in the creation, processing, approval, verification, and publication of QMS documentation to ensure it remains current.
  • Analyze Regulatory and customer requirements, integrating them into the QMS as needed.
  • Engage with and lead external audits conducted by our Customers and Regulators.
  • Coordinate prompt responses to customer complaints to guarantee satisfaction.
  • Facilitate the creation, processing, approval, verification, and closure of Corrective Actions.
  • Ensure timely updates of our business management IT systems to maintain compliance safeguards for inventory assignment and Release requirements.
  • Manage and support stamp authorization applications and related 'on-the-job training' to uphold compliant and effective Personnel Competency.
  • Conduct and produce independent investigations into Human Factors, Quality Alerts, Corrective Actions, Notice of Escape, and Red Card as necessary.
Improvement Initiatives
  • Represent the Quality function at Value Stream Daily Management Meetings, taking ownership of assigned actions.
  • Escalate non-compliance and aging issue resolutions to Quality Leadership.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Company's Safety Management System (SMS), providing regular reports for strategic review and action.
  • Design and deliver training sessions to enhance ongoing business operations or meet specific regulatory requirements.
Audit Responsibilities
  • Conduct Internal Audits as assigned for System, Product, and Process across the site.
  • Monitor and mentor employees on awareness of FOD, ESD, Calibration, and SMS.
Culture Development
  • Oversee and communicate Quality Metrics through standard operating rhythms.
  • Perform 'Walk the Floor' audits and report identified issues through standard operating rhythms, adjusting frequency as necessary in response to non-compliance findings.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to QA queries and escalations from daily operating rhythms.
  • Develop and maintain effective visual and verbal communication of QA activities, including procedural changes, audit findings, and 5S status through standard operating rhythms.
  • Engage in any other activities supporting compliance, loss prevention, and audit readiness as directed by Quality Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in aviation or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, meeting deadlines and contributing to team goals.
  • Capacity to energize teams and foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills, demonstrating motivation, flexibility, and determination.
  • Ability to assess the external impact of business activities and decisions on customers, market/industry, investors, media, government, and communities, including Safety Management Systems and Human Factors.
  • Proficient IT skills, including interaction with operational business management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Production/Maintenance Quality and/or Quality Assurance.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS Standards and those of the CAA and EASA.
  • Understanding and/or application of requirements for Certified release of product.
  • Degree or HNC/HND qualified in an Aerospace-related field.
  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with Oracle, Proficy, and TipQA IT systems.

Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. If BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, eligibility for the role may be affected, and any employment offer may be withdrawn on national security grounds.
