About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Shift Vehicle Technician to join our team at First Bus in Sheffield. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, ensuring our fleet is in top condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, and electronic braking systems.
  • Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance tasks.
  • Be fully conversant with diagnostic equipment, including multi-meters, temperature gauges, and ECU diagnostic computer equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in vehicle electrical systems maintenance and repair.
  • Full PCV licence and forklift truck licence (if required).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
