As a Care Companion with Home Instead, you will provide professional companionship services to our clients, engaging in activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being.
- Offer companionship and conversation to help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation
- Monitor diet and eating habits to ensure our clients receive the nutrition they need
- Provide medication reminders to ensure our clients take their medications as prescribed
- Stimulate and encourage clients through a variety of activities, such as reading, puzzles, or games
- Arrange appointments, activities, and outings to promote social interaction and community engagement
- Organise mail and write letters to help our clients stay connected with loved ones
- Assist with walking and provide support to help our clients maintain their independence
- Accompany clients to appointments and social events to provide emotional support and companionship
In addition to companionship services, our Care Companions may also provide home help services, including:
- Running errands and collecting prescriptions to help our clients maintain their independence
- Providing light housekeeping and completing laundry to keep our clients' homes clean and tidy
- Making beds and changing linen to ensure our clients' living spaces are comfortable and hygienic
- Organising and tidying cupboards to help our clients stay organised and clutter-free
- Planning, preparing, and tidying away meals to ensure our clients receive nutritious and delicious food
- Answering the door and providing a warm welcome to our clients' homes
- Assisting with pet care to ensure our clients' furry friends receive the attention they need
- Helping with shopping to ensure our clients have access to the essentials
Our Care Companions may also provide personal care services, including:
- Helping with bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure our clients receive the care they need
- Assisting with continence care to promote dignity and independence
- Helping clients to eat and drink to ensure they receive the nutrition they need
- Providing dementia and Alzheimer's care to support our clients with these conditions
- Providing respite and convalescence care to support our clients during periods of recovery
