Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of special educational needs on a one-on-one or small group basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, including those with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans to ensure progress in both academic and social development.
  • Effectively manage behavior, using appropriate strategies to promote positive outcomes.
  • Monitor and track student progress, reporting regularly to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and participation.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for the child's development.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) are desirable.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies, behavior management, and child development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the wider school team and external professionals.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and helping all students succeed.
