Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice to clients on contentious probate issues, including will validity disputes, inheritance claims, and estate administration challenges.
  • Overseeing a portfolio of contentious probate cases from initiation through to resolution.
  • Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to evaluate the strengths of clients' claims and defenses.
  • Drafting essential legal documents such as letters of claim, pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
  • Representing clients in mediation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Managing court proceedings in the County Court or High Court, including preparation for hearings and trials.
  • Delivering strategic legal guidance to clients to secure favorable outcomes and safeguard their interests.
  • Collaborating with fellow legal professionals, including barristers and experts, to enhance case strategies.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and other stakeholders involved in probate disputes.
  • Staying updated on developments in probate law and court procedures to ensure the provision of accurate and effective legal services.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in private client law, particularly in contentious probate.
  • In-depth knowledge of probate law, inheritance disputes, and applicable legislation.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex and high-value contentious probate cases.
  • Strong litigation and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
  • Exceptional client management and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team, showcasing initiative and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Dedication to providing outstanding legal services and achieving successful outcomes for clients.
