About the Role

Evelyn Partners is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of clients\u2019 financial data and the preparation of annual financial accounts and associated outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of a portfolio of clients including complex financial statements (such as consolidation and IFRS)
  • Supporting Business Outsource Services Support (BOSS) team on researching technical queries following BOS internal and external requests, reporting findings to management via technical summaries and advising as required.
  • Training and development of junior staff.
  • Line management including monitoring of direct line staff performance, carrying out appraisals and ensuring feedback given to staff on a timely basis.
  • Support other managers within the team with various administrative tasks and projects that arise from time to time
  • Ensure quality is consistent and to a high level across all outputs.
  • Interactions with clients to undertake accounting work as required – both over telephone/e-mail and potentially occasional on-site client visits.
  • Work closely with the audit and business tax teams to provide a seamless service to clients and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Be prepared to share ideas about how best to operate the accounts preparation process in order to improve efficiencies for the firm.

Requirements

  • Prior experience of computerised accounting packages including cloud-based software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Strong communication skills in order to liaise with clients and other staff members
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines.
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and FRS 102) and Companies Act
