Job Description

Roxel Group is seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer to join our team in Kidderminster, UK. As a key member of our Design Authority team, you will be responsible for managing design evolution to meet customer requirements, specifying and reviewing structural, thermal, and ballistic analyses, and ensuring appropriate validation testing is carried out prior to formal qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage design evolution to meet customer requirements
  • Specify and review structural, thermal, and ballistic analyses
  • Ensure appropriate validation testing is carried out prior to formal qualifications
  • Lead formal design reviews at relevant design phases and ensure actions are taken and completed on time
  • Responsible for design and production certification and producing a Certificate of Design for the rocket motor
  • Customer technical interface leading on all technical matters with the missile prime contractor
  • Arrange and manage specific trials such as structural testing, rocket motor firings, laboratory scale testing
  • Disassemble and assess fired rocket motor hardware
Requirements
  • Formal qualification in mechanical, aeronautical, or related engineering discipline
  • Sound understanding of engineering mathematics, stressing, materials, and manufacturing techniques
  • Interest and aptitude in both theory and practical aspects of engineering and rocket motor design
  • Good understanding of DFMEA, 'Design to Cost', and 'Design for Manufacture' principles
