About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical construction documentation and BIM packages for architects, developers, and self-builders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Documentation: Deliver MEP documentation on projects in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Client Relationships: Maintain professional working relationships with clients, attending meetings and keeping on top of communications to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Project Management: Manage MEP projects from conception to completion, overseeing the work of junior team members and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Design Calculations and Drawings: Perform design calculations and create MEP system drawings, specifications, and feasibility reports.
  • Site Visits: Attend site visits to physically inspect installations on behalf of clients or the company.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 4 years of design experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in MEP design and project management.
  • Skills: Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Electrical OM, Revit, and Dialux, with excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Qualifications: Chartered engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent, with a master's degree in engineering or a science-based degree.
  • Professional Memberships: Membership to CIBSE, IET, or IMechE.
