Lead Infrastructure Strategist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Strategist to join our team for a fixed-term engagement. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing and enhancing infrastructure systems.

This position will report to the Infrastructure Manager and will involve collaborating with the Infrastructure Services Team to drive departmental and organization-wide service enhancements, while also maintaining the current infrastructure framework and contributing to its future development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and sustain all components of both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Supervise and manage infrastructure operations across multiple locations.
  • Deliver technical assistance through Incident, Change, and Problem Management protocols.
  • Ensure the operational integrity of system environments, including platform upgrades, operating systems, and infrastructure.
  • Administer existing outsourced VMware and cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Manage storage solutions, including capacity planning, data retention, backups, and recovery strategies.
  • Oversee the management of the Citrix environment.
  • Implement patch management for desktops, servers, networking devices, and all associated hardware.
  • Conduct infrastructure administration tasks for Active Directory, M365, Exchange, and SCCM.
  • Perform proactive, scheduled maintenance and implement upgrades and enhancements.
  • Assist 1st and 2nd line service desk personnel with escalated issues as required.
  • Engage in project initiatives, including design and service enhancement efforts.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior IT Management Team.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security Team to ensure the security and protection of all infrastructure.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with Windows Server versions 2012 to 2022.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies, specifically VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of HP and Aruba network switch management, patching, and configuration.
  • Skilled in fault diagnosis across various technologies and platforms, with a proven track record of resolving issues within established service level agreements.
  • Experience in a change control and configuration management setting.
  • Able to serve as the technical escalation point for incident resolution.

Due to the nature of this role, occasional travel to regional offices may be required. Flexibility in working hours may also be necessary to complete tasks or perform maintenance outside of standard hours.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience.
