SEN/ SEMH Teaching Assistant Bordon

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will have experience working with children and/or adults who have Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one or small group support sessions for students, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.
- Assist in the development and implementation of education plans for students with mental health concerns.
- Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding this.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
- Support teachers in managing the behavior and specialist needs of the young people.
- GCSE's/ Level 2 Equivalent in Mathematics.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
- Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of child safeguarding and ability to respond to such concerns effectively and efficiently.
We offer a range of roles, including part-time and full-time positions, in both Primary and Secondary education. These roles will be based in the north of Hampshire. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date.
