Role Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will work closely with our civils team and liaise with our established client base of housebuilders. The role involves a balanced mix of highway and drainage design work, with opportunities to develop your skills and expertise in a variety of areas.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop site appraisals, strategy, and conceptual layouts/master planning for drainage and highways infrastructure
  2. Create and detail earthworks cut and fill concepts
  3. Work with Water Companies, Local Authorities, and the EA to finalize drainage strategies and negotiate discharges from development sites
  4. Handle non-major highways design, detailing, and negotiation of works (Section 38, Section 278)
  5. Detail and specify external works
  6. Use 3D modelling for earthworks, highways, and drainage
  7. Design site finished levels for both trafficked and pedestrian areas
  8. Conduct vehicle swept path analysis
  9. Design and detail private and adoptable FW and SW drainage (Section 104, Section 185) including attenuation facilities, ponds, tanks, swales, and SUDS
  10. Perform drainage hydraulic modelling using Micro Drainage (Windes Package)
Experience Required
  1. Strong background in site appraisals, drainage and highway infrastructure planning
  2. Proficient in earthworks and 3D infrastructure modelling
  3. Experience in liaising with stakeholders such as Water Companies and Local Authorities
  4. Expertise in highway design and drainage systems, including private and adoptable drainage designs
  5. Competence in using Micro Drainage (Windes Package) for hydraulic modelling
