About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Stock and Inventory Manager to join our team at Wincanton Trans European Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of stock management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock Integrity and KPI Management: Accountable for the delivery of all stock integrity and the management of related KPIs, ensuring they meet or exceed contracted requirements.
  • Process Improvement and Standardization: Develop operational teams' best practice and standardization of all control processes, driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure first-class operational delivery in all operational areas, with a focus on stock integrity, repeatability, and accuracy.
  • Customer Improvement Plans: Develop and execute customer improvement plans that enable greater advocacy of Wincanton's stock management principles.
  • Performance Issue Resolution: Serve as the lead point of contact for all stock-related performance issues, which could result in customer complaints or claims against Wincanton.
  • Team Management: Motivate and manage a team of stock and system administrators to achieve, and where possible, exceed all performance objectives.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training, developing, and appraising the Stock & Systems Team members.
  • System Support: Liaising with support teams regularly to diagnose and support issues with the warehouse management system.
  • Management Reporting: Production of management reports for both the customer and site management team, including analyzing and collating data to monitor site KPIs.
  • Culture of Efficiency: Deliver a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement by utilizing the most appropriate methodology on a consistent basis.
  • Audit Governance: Enable audit governance to ensure adherence to regulatory body standards and customer standards.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Ability to create detailed analysis that identifies root cause and resolution through Root Cause and Corrective Action principles.
  • HSE Performance: Ensure that a best-in-class HSE performance is achieved within all operational activities, the sites, and that a culture of safety is embedded in everything we do, driving safety as the priority.
  • Customer Experience: Communicating and liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth and effective customer experience.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders across the wider Wincanton business.
Requirements
  • Warehouse Management Systems Experience: Advanced experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with knowledge of Manhattan or Asset Suite 9, ideal but not essential.
  • Team Management Experience: Team management experience, able to lead and motivate a team with effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Leadership Experience: A strong leader with experience of managing a small team.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Data analysis skills to support the right decisions.
  • Commercial Awareness: Good commercial awareness and a commitment to providing customers with the highest standards of service.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels.
  • Influencing Stakeholders: Demonstrable ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the client's organization.
  • Logistics Experience: Experience in delivering client-focused solutions, with logistics/warehouse industry experience being advantageous.
