Your Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge mechanical designs for complex projects within the Defense sector. You will be responsible for all stages of the design process, from conceptualization to detailed engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive design concepts, scheme definitions, and detailed design solutions using advanced CAD software, including Inventor.
  • Work on intricate piping systems, mechanical flow diagrams, and produce a range of technical drawings, such as general arrangement, assembly, component, and fabrication drawings.
  • Conduct scoping calculations and create precise component specifications that adhere to stringent BS/ISO standards and legal requirements (e.g., LOLER, EMUA).
  • Ensure all designs strictly comply with Assystem's Quality Management System, delivering high-quality work within agreed timeframes, budgets, and performance standards.

Your Qualifications:

  • A HND in an applicable engineering/design discipline is preferred, or an HNC with relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design aligned with BS/ISO standards is essential.
  • Proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD software is required.
  • Experience in design for manufacture, pipework, pressure vessels, and structural steelwork is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit and GD&T (desirable).
  • Knowledge of BS8888 and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards (desirable).
