Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ESG Researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our investment desks with ESG research and integration, as well as stewardship activities. This will include:

  • Providing ESG data analysis and interpretation to support investment processes.
  • Conducting climate analysis to provide investment insights.
  • Generating engagement ideas that consider ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Conducting direct and collaborative engagement with companies to represent client interests.
  • Conducting ESG portfolio reviews.
  • Responding to ESG-specific client queries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of ESG investment drivers and their impact on investment risk and potential returns. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt their style to disseminate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting investment desks with ESG research and integration, including the use and interpretation of ESG data to support investment processes.
  • Conducting climate analysis to provide investment insights.
  • Generating engagement ideas that consider ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Conducting direct and collaborative engagement with companies to represent client interests.
  • Conducting ESG portfolio reviews.
  • Responding to ESG-specific client queries.

The candidate will also be expected to support strategic initiatives both inside and outside of our direct team that relate to ESG and sustainability. This may include attending client meetings and industry events, as well as engaging with external ESG partners to refine processes and enhance industry understanding and best practice.

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of core ESG investment drivers and their impact on investment risk and potential returns.
  • Data analysis experience with working with large amounts of ESG data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and build productive relationships with investment professionals and senior management.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to manage one's own time to complete work accurately and to deadlines.
