Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Technician Apprentice to join our team at Atlas Copco. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our innovative vacuum products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of workshop equipment and procedures.
  • Learn to service our pumps by conducting regular checks and maintenance tasks.
  • Acquire skills to repair and replace faulty parts, ensuring optimal product performance.
  • Apply safe systems of working, including electrical safety testing, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Utilize proven techniques and procedures to solve complex engineering and manufacturing problems.

Training and Development

  • Collaborate with our training provider, East Surrey College, to receive continuous training and development opportunities.
  • Attend classes for 3 days a week in the first year, focusing on engineering principles, and reduce to 1 day in the second year.
  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, obtain a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Engineering.

Career Progression

  • Upon successful completion of this program, you may be offered a Service Engineer role within our in-house team in Chessington, with opportunities to move into the field or within the wider Atlas Copco Group.
  • You may also be offered further training to expand your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English, and a Science.
  • A passion for engineering, demonstrated through personal interests or school projects.
  • A strong interest in learning and growing as a service engineer.
  • An interest in engineering or construction and a desire to learn how things work.
  • Good timekeeping and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Takes pride in their work and has a keen eye for detail.
  • Adaptable.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Works collaboratively with others.
