Polaris Community is dedicated to providing exceptional care for young individuals, ensuring their unique needs are met in a supportive environment. We are seeking a Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the needs of young individuals in our care are prioritized, providing a safe and nurturing living environment.
  • Lead and manage Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality childcare.
  • Collaborate with the Children's Home Manager to maintain smooth and effective operations within the residential home, ensuring positive outcomes for young people.

Special Conditions:

  • The individual in this role will need to schedule annual leave at different times than the Home Manager.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong educational background.
  • Working towards or holding a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Current knowledge of childcare legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Possession of a QCF Level 3 qualification or willingness to pursue one.
  • Commitment to begin a relevant Level 5 Diploma within six months of appointment, contingent upon successful completion of the probation period.
  • A minimum of two years' experience working directly with young individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Experience collaborating with external agencies, professionals, parents, and families.
  • Familiarity with attending reviews and planning meetings.
  • Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
  • Highly organized with strong administrative and IT capabilities.
  • Ability to connect with young individuals empathetically, committed to high standards of childcare and achieving the best outcomes.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership potential, capable of supervising and developing Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to foster a cohesive team.
  • Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Must possess a full, clean UK Driving Licence (manual).
