Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial professional to join our team as a Senior Financial Strategist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level financial advice and guidance to support the Finance function in its budgeting setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting strategies to ensure alignment with the Council's financial objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and other stakeholders to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior finance colleagues and service managers to develop and implement financial models and tools.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial information and reports to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure effective financial management and control.

Requirements

  • Member of CIMA or CCAB body with significant post-qualification experience and undertaking active CPD or evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience of management accounting and budget setting techniques and processes.
  • Experience of working with a variety of different stakeholders in a political environment.
  • Experience of providing accountancy services within a large organization.

Working Arrangements

The role is hybrid with 23 days in the office while training, 1-2 days in the office once training is complete. The closing date for this position is 15th August 2024.
