Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial professional to join our team as a Senior Financial Strategist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level financial advice and guidance to support the Finance function in its budgeting setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting strategies to ensure alignment with the Council's financial objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and other stakeholders to inform decision-making.
  • Manage and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports to support business planning and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with senior finance colleagues and service managers to develop and implement financial planning processes.
  • Represent the Council at regional meetings and on regional projects as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Member of CIMA or CCAB body with significant post-qualification experience and active CPD.
  • Proven experience of management accounting, budget setting techniques, and working with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Working Arrangements

The role is hybrid, with 23 days in the office and 1-2 days in the office for training once complete. The closing date for this position is 15th August 2024.
