We are a specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) educational institution committed to supporting students with intricate needs. Our environment is nurturing and inclusive, aimed at empowering every student to achieve their utmost potential. We recognize that a robust partnership between home and school is vital for student success, and our Family Support Worker is instrumental in cultivating these essential connections.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Family Support Worker, your duties will include:
- Engaging closely with families to provide guidance, support, and practical advice, assisting them in overcoming obstacles that may affect their child's education and overall well-being.
- Establishing strong, trusting relationships with families, serving as a primary point of contact between home and school.
- Helping families access local services and resources, including mental health support, financial aid, and community initiatives.
- Collaborating with educators, SEN specialists, and external organizations to develop a coordinated support strategy for each student.
- Contributing to the creation and delivery of workshops and programs designed to enhance parenting skills, emotional health, and family dynamics.
- Providing individualized support for students and parents, addressing specific challenges and facilitating resolutions to issues that may arise.
Qualifications We Seek:
- Experience in working with families, particularly in a supportive or advisory capacity, preferably within an educational or SEMH context.
- A caring, non-judgmental demeanor, coupled with exceptional listening and communication abilities.
- A solid understanding of the challenges faced by families with children who have SEMH needs.
- The capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, exhibiting a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Relevant qualifications in social work, family support, or a related discipline, or a willingness to pursue further training.

All salary rates mentioned will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
