Premier Foods is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Environmental Degree Apprentice. This is a unique opportunity to combine academic studies with practical experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

As an Environmental Degree Apprentice, you will be studying towards a 5-year Degree Apprenticeship in Environmental Management. You will be working closely with our Environmental Manager to support the development and implementation of site energy monitoring and waste reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing material for induction and training, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
  • Attend key project meetings to embed sustainable behaviors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Contribute to projects and ways of working using research developed from personal and university learning.
  • Assist in reporting and investigating environmental incidents.
  • Produce project statistics and KPIs for presentation to project leadership and Environmental Manager.
  • Support carbon and quality audits, ensuring follow-up of corrective actions to meet ISO14001 requirements.
  • Develop a culture of embedded sustainability through innovation and lessons learned reports.
  • Support plans to achieve sustainability goals, providing governance, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements:
  • 112 UCAS tariff points or relevant recognised prior learnings/experience
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively and intuitively either alone or in a small team
  • Sound communication and personal effectiveness skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
  • Interest in sustainability and the environment
  • Good working knowledge of MS packages including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Working Hours:

You will be working typically 07:00-15:00 or 08:00-16:00 when working onsite.
