Role Overview

As a Board Officer, you will be part of a distinguished team at City Hall, known for its high performance. Your responsibilities will encompass engaging with key stakeholders and partnership boards, as well as overseeing internal governance structures and processes. The Mayoral Boards team plays a crucial role in delivering corporate services within a fast-paced and strategically oriented organization.

In this position, you will interact with senior officials, elected representatives, and board members, contributing to initiatives that may receive media attention. A significant aspect of your role will involve coordinating the formal governance of the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone, which is evolving into one of London's most vibrant areas for business and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage formal meetings that involve decision-making processes, preferably in a high-profile or complex environment.
  • Interpret and apply best practices in governance.
  • Plan and organize effectively: anticipate needs, manage time, prioritize tasks, and develop structured approaches to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Build and maintain relationships: foster rapport and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, sharing knowledge and skills to achieve common objectives.
  • Demonstrate organizational awareness: understand and navigate the dynamics, culture, and politics within and beyond the GLA, adapting strategies accordingly.
