Job Title: Examination Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Examination Specialist to join our team at Pearson. As an Examination Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our assessment delivery system.

About the Role

The Examination Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the standards of an externally assessed unit(s)/module(s)/component(s) are maintained and are consistent with the unit specification and assessment criteria. This will involve:

  1. Ensuring the timely delivery of contracted unit(s)/module(s)/component(s).
  2. Updating the mark scheme/guidance before the pre-standardisation meeting, taking into account actual candidates' responses and feedback from supervisors/Examiners.
  3. Marking an allocation of live candidates' responses, to quality assure as part of a supervisory role, where required.
  4. Monitoring the progress of supervisors/Examiners.
  5. Acting as a senior point of escalation across the quality assurance process.
  6. Monitoring and reporting to the Assessment team after standardisation and completion of marking, submitting a completed feedback form for each supervisor/Examiner as directed.
  7. Supporting in awarding activities by writing reports to the Awarding Committee, recommending grade boundaries, participating in the awarding activities, and other areas where required.
  8. Submitting reports on the series/candidate performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.
  2. Provide examples of when you were asked to lead/support essential quality assurance activities.
  3. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and requirements.
  4. Report writing within a regulated industry.
