About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Director to join our team at News UK. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving our digital strategy and ensuring our online presence is engaging, interactive, and resonates with our diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of our digital strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
  • Lead a team of digital content creators, developers, and analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of quality and innovation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including commercial and marketing, to deliver compelling and interactive content across all digital platforms.
  • Manage online news operations, audience teams, and audio/video departments, ensuring seamless integration and maximum impact.
  • Interpret analytics to inform data-driven decisions and report to colleagues and the wider business on a regular basis.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the online, audience, sport, tech, and video teams across News Corp.
Requirements
  • Digital experience on a fast-paced national news platform.
  • Experience in managing and leading high-performance teams.
  • Expertise in SEO, social media, and digital news delivery.
  • Experience of video production, commission, and knowledge of emerging platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of analytics and ability to interpret data and implement new strategies.
  • Keen awareness of the digital media environment, trends, and audience behaviors.
  • Skilled in creating commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives.
  • Understanding of News UK's DNA and how it translates to digital platforms.
  • Fully aware of legal issues, the Editors' Code of Practice, and IPSO standards.
