Site Manager Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our dynamic and forward-thinking main contractor. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing construction sites and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage health and safety on site, conducting daily audits and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  2. Produce daily site reports, highlighting progress and any issues that need attention.
  3. Manage subcontractors, ensuring they are working efficiently and effectively.
  4. Have a strong understanding of M&E services and be able to manage their installation and coordination on site.
  5. Manage drawing information on site, ensuring that all relevant documents are up to date and accessible.
  6. Review subcontractor RAMS, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
  7. Report on programme progress, highlighting any delays or issues that need attention.
  8. Coordinate multiple trades on site, including M&E, construction, and specialist contractors.
  9. Liaise effectively with project managers, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and up to date.
  10. Be client-facing, liaising with facilities managers on site to ensure that they are kept informed.
  11. Interface with project management systems, ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date.

Requirements:

  1. SMSTS qualification.
  2. First aid training.
  3. Construction qualifications, ideally NVQ level 6.
  4. Minimum 7 years' experience in construction site management.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Project, as well as SharePoint.
