**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Recruitment Avenue. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing all financial processes, contributing to future planning and development, and driving the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full invoicing process, including authorizations, coding, applying relevant taxes, and chasing outstanding debt.
- Process staff payroll and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct credit control, checking new clients and monitoring existing clients to ensure timely payments.
- Manage banking and allocation of payments, including dealing with prepayments and accruals.
- Process weekly BACS payment runs and ad-hoc priority and international payments/refunds.
- Maintain the petty cash book and process staff expenses claims.
- Communicate with clients and suppliers, working with staff and Directors on problem accounts, suggesting actions for resolution.
- Prepare analyses of accounts and produce reports as needed, including monthly and quarterly management accounts packs.
- Liaise with external accountants to prepare and complete year-end accounts.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Manage cash flow and assist the Directors with the annual budget, planning, and forecasting.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce company costs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Financial Operations Manager in a SME.
- Management Accountancy qualification preferred.
- Knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software.
- Experience in the travel industry an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven people management skills with a persuasive and assertive personality.
- Some customer relations experience.
